MEDICO-LEGAL misinterpretation

(BEFORE THIS ARTICLE I HAVE THOROUGHLY STUDIED,SEARCHED AND THEN DARED TO WRITE THIS FOR PURPOSE OF AWARENESS)

Medico legal means Pertaining to legal aspects of the practice of medicine (In simple words advocate having knowledge about the laws/legislations applicable on doctors, hospitals & entire medical family) but these days so called self styled medico legal experts are available in the market.
Medico legal field is one such field that has never been centre stage in field of medicine, due to the lack of expertise in this field. Until few years, not many would have thought that doctors would have to face medico legal problems. Even the so called developing countries are also influenced by Westernization. With this changing scenario, doctors have to adapt to the situation and may have to face such legal tangles, which is intangible and disturbing sometimes. The term medico legal is mis-interpreted.

The use of experts has become commonplace in medico-legal practice and throughout the world many cases are routinely supported by the use of experts to enable the Courts to gain a full understanding and insight into material and evidence. The definition of an expert is varied according to the legal jurisdiction in which it is applied.
With advancement in society the awareness have come every where, some times this awareness is even misused specially  against doctors. Yet the patient hardly pays rupees 10,000/- during all his treatment but for even a little bit of negligence on part of the doctor the public sues them for crores without any reason or rhyme.
That with all due respect to the medical fraternity I take the liberty to mention here that most of the harassment suffered by competent doctors is due to these incompetent medico legal experts.

That self styled medico legal experts are coming forward but not many of them have even the basic knowledge as to how many acts, laws or legislations are applicable on the doctors.
